Begun in 2001, as an experimental collaborative project of poetry and visual art, Erin participated in an eight-month exchange of work and response between writers and visual artists.

Conceptual in nature, these works express ideas that are analyzed and appreciated by the project's participants as well as its audiences. Since Word & Hand's inception, Erin continues to collaborate with poet Brian Gard, absorbing the influences of his poetry, then reflected in the emergence of visually powerful works of art.
